Yellow-legged Mud-dauber Wasps (Sceliphron caementarium) are common in the yard, but I haven't yet found one of their nests. I think I saw one recently, though, looking for possible nesting locations under the siding on the front of the house.
These wasps build their nests out of mud, where solitary female wasps lay eggs and stock with paralyzed spiders for the larvae to consume.
